I bought this because I can' find them anywhere in any local auto parts vendor. I use it to determine when to replace my tires and measure my tires for winter traction (4/32" minimum for snow - tire tread visual indicators are 2/32" so they are useless to me) so no more guessing or finding those lincoln pennies for me. It works very well but is a little messy since the shaft oil rubs all over your fingers. I keep it safely stored away from dust in my toolbox.

What's to say? It's a tread depth gauge, it either works or it doesn't...this one works. It is built well,easy to use and the price is right.
