I'm not a car expert, but I really liked using this product on my car. I was very impressed how sharp it made my car look! And the product lasted quite awhile before I had to re-apply it!
I applied this product approximately two weeks ago and, while it has lost some shine (the "wet" look), my tires still look dark black and glossy. These tires earn their keep with about 110 miles per day commuting, and even so I have not experienced problems with the gel becoming oily, greasy or sticky, or with it getting on the body of my vehicle. I followed the application instructions to a T; thoroughly cleaned the tires, let them dry out, and applied after tires had cooled. I am satisfied with the results. As it was my first time using, I applied varying amounts to each of the four tires to determine the best application volume for future use. Best results were achieved with one thick coat, but be sure to work the product in to the rubber evenly as you apply so as not to leave globs or thin spots. Estimate 1/6 of the bottle used with SUV tires and 18" wheels.
The Extreme Tire Gel is marketed as Armor All's "best" tire black product and is typically $3-$4 more expensive than the aerosol or pump spray products. I bought this product on sale at Super Target for the same price listed here ($8.49).
There are many similar products out there, some of which could very well work better. I may potentially consider using a higher priced product from an alternate manufacturer in the future just out of curiosity and because I love how awesome the tires look with that wet black shine.
