It's accurate enough for ordinary use (within 2 psi according to my much more expensive Bourdon tube gauge.). It holds the reading until you push the slider back in. The numbers on the slider are stamped, not etched and are a bit difficult to read under some conditions. It is worth what it cost, but Walmart sometimes has a similar one for $1.95 which is a better value.
