- RANCH HITCH ADAPTER
I bought a RV on Bay and needed to drive 250miles to pick it up. Our truck is setup for a gooseneck. I chose this adapter because other systems are not adjustable like the Rapid Hitch. I was concerned about the need to bolt or weld the base plates together, as we would not be able to do that onsite at the dealer. A quick call to the manufacture told me it was not absolutely necessary. If you are concerned about your trailer/truck, give them a call, they were very helpful.
I got the hitch from Amazon Prime in 2 days. I read the directions, watched the install video online, and felt good about everything. We drove off to the dealer and I installed he hitch in 10min just as advertised. It was a snap! Advice-- be sure read the directions and watch the video so you are well prepared like we were.
It worked better than we could have hoped actually. On the way home we were unable to avoid running over a 200lb wild pig! Our F350 crew cab truck took the impact on the tires only-- it was basically a BIG speed bump. We were only going 35mph (60mph zone) because we were concerned about deer. The 6ton trailer drove right over the pig too, no damage. Dispite all the extra stress from the jumping around, and not having the base plates bolted/welded, the hitch held up perfectly fine.
